Tori Amos Picture
Born Myra Ellen Amos, the daughter of Reverend Edison Amos and Mary Ellen Amos, on August 22, 1963, in North Carolina. She was a piano prodigy from the beginning, playing by ear at age 2 1/2, and writing her own songs by age 4. It's been said that by age 5, she could play anything on the piano after hearing it only once. She won a scholarship at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, Maryland - the youngest person ever to be admitted there. She always ran into trouble there, as they discouraged her from composing her own music.

Butterfly Lyrics

Tori Amos

Stinky soul, get a little lost in my own,
Hey general, need a little love in that hole of yours.
One ways, now, and saturdays and our kittens all wrapped in cement.
From cradle to gumdrops
Got me running girl as fast as I can and
Is it right, butterfly, they like you better framed and dried
Daddy dear, if I can kill one man why not two?
Well, nurses smile when you got iron veins
You cant stain their pretty shoes and pom poms and cherry blondes
And their kittens still wrapped in cement.
From gods saviors to gumdrops
Got me running girl as fast as I can and
Is it right, butterfly, they like you better framed and dried.
Got a pretty, pretty garden, pretty garden, yes.
Got me a pretty, pretty garden, a pretty garden, yes.
Got me a pretty, pretty garden, a pretty garden
