Tori Amos Picture
Born Myra Ellen Amos, the daughter of Reverend Edison Amos and Mary Ellen Amos, on August 22, 1963, in North Carolina. She was a piano prodigy from the beginning, playing by ear at age 2 1/2, and writing her own songs by age 4. It's been said that by age 5, she could play anything on the piano after hearing it only once. She won a scholarship at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, Maryland - the youngest person ever to be admitted there. She always ran into trouble there, as they discouraged her from composing her own music.

Black-dove (january) Lyrics

Tori Amos

She was a January girl
She never let on how insane it was
In that tiny kinda scary house
By the woods
By the woods
By the woods
By the woods (times 2)
Black dove
Black dove
You’re not a helicopter
You’re not a cop out either honey
Black dove
Black dove
You don’t need a space ship
They don’t know you’ve already lived
On the other side of the galaxy (times 3)
She had a January world
So many storms not right somehow
How a lion becomes a mouse
By the woods
By the woods
By the woods
By the woods (times 2)
But I have to get to Texas
Said I have to get to Texas
And I’ll give away my blue blue dress
Blue dress
Black dove
Black dove
You're not helicopter
You're not a cop out either honey
Black dove
Black dove
You don't need a space ship
They don't know you've already lived
On the other side of the galaxy (times 3)
But I have to get to Texas
Said I have to get to Texas
And I'll give away my blue dress (...)
She has a January girl
She never let on how insane it was
In that tiny kinda scary house
By the woods
By the woods
By the woods
