Tori Amos Picture
Born Myra Ellen Amos, the daughter of Reverend Edison Amos and Mary Ellen Amos, on August 22, 1963, in North Carolina. She was a piano prodigy from the beginning, playing by ear at age 2 1/2, and writing her own songs by age 4. It's been said that by age 5, she could play anything on the piano after hearing it only once. She won a scholarship at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, Maryland - the youngest person ever to be admitted there. She always ran into trouble there, as they discouraged her from composing her own music.

Baltimore Lyrics

Tori Amos

Its so nice to live here,
Im glad this is my home,
Ive got a homestead on baltimore street
Its someplace to call my own
Its all kinds of people,
Familiar places, smiling faces,
Im proud to say Im a baltimorian.
But the birds are the best,
The best of baltimore.
We like it here in baltimore,
Theres so much love in baltimore,
Working hand in hand,
To make this place a better land in baltimore,
Love is what youll find so stop and take the time,
Ive got oriole baseball on my mind.
We like it here in baltimore,
Theres so much love in baltimore,
Working hand in hand,
To make this place a better land in baltimore,
Love is what youll find so stop and take the time,
To enjoy the brotherhood of baltimore.
The sun sets across the bay
Im glad I spend my day
In a working american city
With all the people who make it that way,
Its time to jump in a taxi
For thirty-third street
Knowing Ill be watching those birds go,
Watching weavers show.
We like it here in baltimore,
Theres so much love in baltimore,
Working hand in hand,
To make this place a better land in baltimore,
Love is what youll find so stop and take the time,
Ive got oriole baseball on my mind.
On my mind in baltimore
